MCP: The Standard that Decides Legal AI's Future
MCP is becoming the standard that picks legal-AI winners. It still says nothing about proving what the agents did.
Artificial Lawyer has a piece arguing that MCP, the model context protocol, is becoming the standard that will decide which legal-AI vendors survive the coming consolidation.
The claim: once integration runs through one protocol, the winners are whoever plugs in cleanly, Harvey, Legora, iManage, NetDocuments and the rest. The plumbing starts picking survivors.
The governance side gets underplayed, though. A protocol that standardizes how agents connect says nothing about how you prove what they did once they're connected. That part is still wide open.
